Make and Take Thursday

Good morning! This is just a quick post to let you know that tomorrow is

MAKE AND TAKE THURSDAY

Last week I talked about all the wonderful dies that you can get at Stampeddler. Well, at the Thursday Make and Take session, you can play with one of the wonderful new dies. Here's a hint of what you might make:

There are three sessions throughout the day:

  • 11am - Noon
  • 2.30pm - 3.30pm
  • 7.00pm - 8.00pm

You don't have to book a session, just show up and have fun. You will get to try out new techniques and create with this lovely die!

While you're in the store - check out all the wonderful dies, papers and stamps suitable for creating masculine cards - you could make a Father's Day card, a birthday card or just one for fun:

That's all for now. Do drop by again soon.

Dies and more dies

If you like dies, then you're going to love Stampeddler. I think it has the biggest display of dies that I've seen anywhere. Dies stocked include Memory Box, Impression Obsession, Taylored Expressions, Tonic, to name a few. Here's a quick look at some of the dies that are on the shelves right now:

Not only can you see all these different dies on display, you'll also find lots of inspiration cards on display too. Father's Day is on Sunday 18th June, so now is a good time to check out what kind of dies would be suitable for a card. Here are some ideas for you:

Below is a photo of more sample showing some of the Taylor Expression dies on various cards.  I adore the cute little BBQ and that lovely champagne bottle and glasses.

That's all for now. Please note that Stampeddler will be closed on Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and Monday 29th May for Memorial Day weekend. See you soon.

Flowers Galore

Hello! I'm back this morning to talk about flowers. It's spring and the flowers are looking gorgeous in gardens and parks. Flowers are really popular on cards - they can be for any occasion, depending on the flower you use, the techniques and the colours. Some of my favourite (and recently discovered) flower stamp sets come from Altenew. Stampeddler has a fabulous selection of Altenew flower stamp sets and some have matching dies too.

Not only can you find multi-layer flower sets, but birds, butterflies words and some abstract sets too. You can see examples of the sets in use all round the store:

Here's a lovely display of tags featuring several different Altenew sets. The backgrounds on most of the tags was created using the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxides inks - such lovely colours!

Here are couple cards, one using the Painted Butterflies set, and the other using the Winter Cardinal stamp set. I love the blue bird - shows it doesn't just have to be for Christmas.

I mentioned earlier that I'd recently discovered Altenew - well it was here that I found the stamps. I've got several sets in my stash, so I thought I'd make a simple flower card - after all it is spring:

I used two sets from Altenew on this card - Spring Daisy, and the matching dies, and Painted Butterflies (words). The strip of design paper used is from Kaisercraft - Bombay Sunset and is available in store. It's full of gorgeous designs. Full details of my card can be found on my blog - Deborah's Gems.

Hello and New Goodies

Hi, I'm Deborah - a Brit who's been living in Northville since March 2012. When we moved here I was delighted to find such a wonderful craft shop in my local town and have been a regular visitor since. I've had the great good fortune to attend many classes run by Valerie, and I'd like to thank her for my welcome.

Anyway, I'm really excited to be looking after the Stampeddler Plus Memories blog. I was in the shop last week and saw some wonderful new Stampendous products. There are some fabulous new stamps in the House Mouse range:

That's only a small selection of the stamps available in the store. I took a photo of some fabulous samples made the Stampeddler team - Margene, Sharon, Karen and Sharon - they are all absolutely adorable:

My favourite is the cute mouse in asleep in the cupcake! As well as the House Mouse stamps, you can find some of the new launched Laurel Burch stamps. I've been a fan of Laurel Burch's work for a long time - I just love her images and the wonderful colours she used. In the animal stamp section of the store you can find a huge range of animals stamps including the Laurel Burch stamps.

While I was browsing these stamps I came across the Stylized Whale stamp from Stampendous and decided to use it on a card of my own. Full details of my card can be found on my blog - Deborah's Gems.

Here's are a few more samples made by the Stampeddler team:

That's all from me for now. I'll be back again soon with more samples and products available at Stampeddler.

A Little Change

HI All,

Just wanted to post a message to let you all know what is going on. I will be passing the blog over to a talented lady who has been a customer of Stampeddler for a while. Her name is Deborah Frings and she is an avid crafter, scrapbooker, rubberstamper as well as plenty of other things. She will be posting projects and other good stuff that will make the blog more active.

If you are wondering if I will still be around the answer is yes. Many of you may already know the reason for my absence is because my father passed away in February. I have been having a very hard time getting back into being creative again but so far I just haven't felt like it. I'm sure that I will soon but for now I will not being teaching any classes for the next month or 2.

In the meantime please give your attention to Deborah as I'm sure she will be posting all kinds of things to get your inspiration going. (I will be deleting all the previous posts so that Deborah can start over with a clean slate.)
